Due to the fact that our previous tobacco de-addiction pilot study focused on a smaller portion of the population, villagers were not able to see the immediate benefits of
our work. Therefore, in order to strengthen village relations and expand our tobacco initiative, we decided to perform a Village relation initiative (VRI). Our VRI took
the form of a dental camp, which served as a tool for USCPR to increase the awareness of the villagers to the dangers of tobacco use in relation to oral health. During this trip, we also found a new vendor for our products and widened the scope of our initiative to include women as well.
