farm situated on the shoreline of the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve
has been actively managed to protect and promote local biodiversity.
Stewardship of this important site has included the development of recreation
and public-awareness facilities. To allow handicapped people to
learn more about nature, multi-sensory trails and other special amenities
have been constructed so they can appreciate their surroundings by using
their sense of touch, smell and hearing. Monitoring of wildlife populations
is also a continuing part of the management program.
