23h 42min, apr 20, 1792 y - War Declared Against Austria and Prussia
Description:
France had declared war on Austria and Prussia. There were proponents of the war on both sides: radicals wanted war because they thought that Austrian-supported emigres would soon invade and that an invasion would prompt the Austrian people to start their own revolution while loyalists wanted war because they thought the Austrians would reinstate a monarchy system if they captured Paris and won. This showed that the revolutionaries had the capability to pressure Louis into declaring war and marked a major turning point in the revolution.
