12h 54min, jan 10, 1878 y - Women’s suffrage amendment introduced in Senate
Description:
The Amendment was first introduced to the Senate by Senator Sargent of California and was drafted by Susan B. Anthony. The text of the amendment amazingly remained unchanged through the entire process of ratification in 1920 as the 19th Amendment. This is important because it was the beginning of the push to get the 19th Amendment passed. It later led to the creation of other woman suffrage associations to help advance to passing of the 19th amendment.
