Description:
Through a series of treaties with France, Belgium, and England, Cavour attempted to bring about the greatest possible amount of free trade. Cavour also put forth several economic reforms in his home province of Piedmont in his earlier years. After a large rail system expansion program, Cavour became prime minister of Sardinia.
