sep 12, 1330 - The Kansas Nebraska Act
Description:
The Kansas-Nebraska Act repealed the Missouri Compromise of 1820 and granted people in the territories of Nebraska and Kansas “popular sovereignty”. This allowed them to decide for themselves whether or not they would allow slavery within their territories. This led to Bleeding Kansas because conflicts arose between pro and anti-slavery settlers which led to the Civil War.
