Description:
Before the Battle of the Coral Sea, codebreakers decrypted a message that told of a Japanese invasion of New Guniea. Admiral Nimitz ordered two aircraft carriers to a strategic location, the Lexington and Yorktown. During the battle, the Lexington was sunk and the Yorktown was near destruction. The Battle of the coral sea was technically a Naval battle, however, most of the battle contained planes.
