Following the skirmish at the Dark Anchor, the Brotherband rode back to their camp. Gudrune and Gondul spoke for awhile, talking about many things. After two hours of conversing, and Masser and Secunda gazing down on them, Vignar returned from the swamps, ready to perform the Ritual.
The Brotherband together hunted through the dense swamps of Blackmarsh for awhile in order to activate Vignar's wolf form. Soon after, he transformed. Gondul held him tightly in case anything were to happen. He fought against Gondul's grip for several minutes, until his canine eyes landed on Gudrune, which had him go still.
Vignar bit Gudrune's neck and fed on her. After a brief struggle, he released her, transforming back into his regular self. The black soul gem in Gondul's pocket suddenly became extremely hot. Soon after he drew it from his pocket, it exploded into several shards, and a blinding bright light left it, entering Gudrune's still body.
After several sobs and begs, Rowena's words echoed from Gudrune's lips, softly. Gondul, after exchanging a kiss with the woman, lifted her to his horse Hjalti, and together with Vignar, rode for where Rowena's body was last: Stonefalls. Rowena was amazed at her new gift of sight.
