Benjamin Bloom published Taxonomies of Education which is now colloquially known as Bloom’s Taxonomy. His classification hierarchy divides domains of learning with the base level being “knowledge” because it was the precursor to being able to apply any of the higher levels of learning. This framework is still used by teachers to incorporate higher order thinking skills into the curriculum.
