jan 1, 1965 - Canada’s New Flag unveiled (1965)
Description:
Canada designed a new flag because for some Canadians the old one was too British. But many people still opposed the new one because they felt that Pearson was giving in to pressure from Quebec. On February 15, 1965, the red- and- white maple leaf became Canada’s New Flag and raised on Parliament Hill for the first time.
