jan 1, 1648 - 1648: Chmielnicki Revolt

Description:

The Chmielnicki Revolt was caused by the Cossacks (fierce peasant-soldiers from Ukraine) hating their Polish rulers. The commander of this revolt was Bogdan Chmielnicki. He caused the physical destruction of Polish Jewry, by killing many Jews and destroying many Jewish communities. Bogdan Chmielnicki was compared to Adolf Hitler because they both exterminated many Jews and destroyed several Jewish communities.
