Upon landing on the beaches of Solitude, all three of the Atmorans were struck by the unique architecture, skin colors, races and culture from where they stood on the beaches. Not only moments later, however, did a dark anchor plunge its prongs into the snowy-sand.
Never having to fight against magic before, the men were easily pushed back. It appeared that Norrin was killed in action — Guilidus disappearing into the smoke, and Gondul was swiftly beaten and taken prisoner in Coldharbour, where he subsequently lost his Soul at the hands of Mannimarco.
