While Dainsleif was getting rest in a tavern, his good friend Torolf Iron-Side — a tall, fair-haired Nord — came to visit him.

The men left for a different tavern to avoid Dainsleif's maiden-of-the-night before she waking up, and proceeded to drink and be merry. After sharing news with one another, and Dainsleif admiring Torolf for his gradual evolution from his previous life as a pirate, the men decided to set off for Blackmarsh in search of work.

After a long ride south, the men found a Dunmer woman named Feyne Vildan in need. She stressfully explained to the men that Aldmeri Dominion soldiers had overrun the nearby village and had imprisoned the Argonians who lived there. With this news, the two Nords set off.

They stumbled upon the villagers being held captive by strange crystals, agreeing that they should focus on destroying them. As the men approached, a Dominion soldier spotted them, halting them in their place. Dainsleif quickly attacked the man, killing him with his axe.

A battle ensued, and the two men fended all of the soldiers off. Torolf helped one of the dazed villagers to her feet. She explained that the Dominion mages were attempting to steal her memories. Not knowing what to make of this, the two men continued forward, freeing prisoners from the Dominion captors.

Upon returning to Feyne Vildan, she thanked them, but stressed that her husband, an Argonian named Ja-Reet, was still being held captive by the commander. The men set out once more.

They soon after confronted the commander, who stood above a weary Ja-Reet. A fight erupted, the Commander eventually besting Dainsleif, but Torolf ultimately killing the Elf. Torolf proceeded to help Ja-Reet.

The men soon found themselves separated within a cave. Thinking Dainsleif had been killed by the Dominion Commander, Torolf soon reunited with his good friend. After mending their wounds, the men set off and soon exited the caverns they found themselves in. As quickly as they could manage, they rode for the nearest village inn.
