After Gudrune confronted Gondul over his selfishness in sending one of his men to acquire vampiric blood in an attempt to preserve his own lovers' body, Gondul learns that Gudrune and Vignar are not only married, but also with child.
Bearing this news, both Vignar and Gudrune decide to leave the Ruby Brotherband in order to prioritize raising their child with their pack in the wilds.
Gondul understood their decision, departing on good terms with Vignar, and on bitter, albeit mutually understood terms with Gudrune.
They then parted ways, never to cross paths again.
