After Gondul helped to reconcile the Dunmer and Argonian ambassadors, Prince Irnskar proclaimed that the Dark Elves and Argonians were ready to meet for a war council. Prince Irnskar asked Gondul if he could convince the Thanes to join as well, to which Gondul affirmed that he could.

Gondul set out and first spoke to Thane Harvald. Although busy and impatient, he reluctantly accepted to attend the council after Gondul expressed the Prince was prepared to make amends for his brash behavior.

Gondul then proceeded to speak with the housecarl of Thane Oda Wolf-Sister, a woman named Jaema, who didn't know where she was beyond wandering into the forests to convene with wolves.

Following the advice of Jaema, Gondul ate a canis cap mushroom, masking his scent from the wolves, and eventually found the Thane. She gladly accepted the invitation after seeing Gondul respected wolves as she did.

Finally, Gondul approached Thane Jeggi, who was only willing to attend if Gondul procured Voljar-family mead for him. Reluctantly, Gondul proceeded to acquire the mead from the nearby Dunmer camps by directly asking for it, returning it to the Thane who then accepted the invitation.

Gondul arrived early to the meeting place, finding King Jorunn resting in his tent. He left and waited for nightfall to return.

Upon arriving to the war council, Gondul overheard the Thanes discussing that the Crown of Freydis and the body of Queen Nurnhilde were with Fildgor, who was at Skuldafn. He intended to use them at the Dragonshrine to usurp King Jorunn — perhaps by way of necromantic ritual.

King Jorunn stepped out and addressed the council, explaining his plans to find a way to bypass Fildgor's enforcements by using an alternative way into Skuldafn.

After speaking with Gondul directly, King Jorunn explained further that the Dragonshrines were rife with secret passages and entrances that could be used.

Gondul concurred with the King's plan, and agreed to lead his Brotherband to assist the Pact troops once the assault was ready to commence. King Jorunn thanked him and directed him to address General Noramil once the time came.
