1960: Ray Sadecki, P, b. 1940 passed in 2014. Sadecki was a graduate of Bishop Ward High School and became one of the youngest players to ever be signed to a professional baseball contact at age 17. He played from 1960-1977 pitching in 563 games professionally. Sadecki finished with a career 135-131 record with 1,314 strikeouts. He was a starting pitcher the year the St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series in 1964. As a featured southpaw pitcher that year, he was part of starting rotation along with the great right hander, Bob Gibson.
