jun 15, 597 BC - Jeremiah's Vision
of Figs (Jeremiah 24)
Description:
A little while after Nebuchadrezzar took Jehoiachin back to Babylon, Jeremiah had this vision of good and bad figs, indicating that things were about to get a whole lot worse for those left behind in Jerusalem, and not exiled into Babylon.
This must have been a serious bummer for Jeremiah, since he had decided to stay behind and not accept Nebuchadrezzar's offer of kindness to live as a royal guest in Babylon. (Jeremiah 39:11 - 40:6) [If it had been me, after being given this prophecy, I think I would have told people what's about to happen if they stick around, and then beat feet to Babylon!]
