Matt is traditionally dated to the late 50’s or early 60’s based on Irenaeus’s assertion (c.A.D. 175) that Matthew composed his Gospe while Peter and Paul were still alive (Irenaeus, Against Heresies 3.3.3). Conservative scholars date it before the fall of Jerusalem since Jesus predicts that event in 24:1-28 while skeptics who deny predictive prophesy date it afer the fall of Jerusalem. ESV-SB 1815d.
