In the second half of the twentieth
century, a new suite of landscapes, designed to provide tourism and recreation
goods as much as agricultural exports, was created in the place of cocksfoot
pastures. In keeping with this change, the forests of the Peninsula, which have
come to be perceived as valuable sites of scenic assets
