Description:
Wishing her secret to be made known to the public, Melanie Calvat publishes a pamphlet containing her account of the apparition with an imprimatur from the Bishop of La Salette. It's apocalyptic tone and assertion that Rome would defect from the Faith made her the object of harsh criticism and accusations from the clergy. Despite this, many remained convinced of her trustworthiness and her piety. Pius X referred to her reverently as a saint.
