Concerned Citizens of Old Quindaro. This organization of community members rise up against the threat of a city dump covering up the Quindaro Ruins and community. A coalition of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City Kansas; and the African Methodist Episcopal Church, 5th District of Kansas City Kansas, (Allen Chapel) joined forces to place a waste over the Quindaro ruins structures in the form of a city dump, operated by Berring Ferris Industries. Previously mentioned urban renewal literally cut the community of Quindaro in half (1960), and now the coalition of institutions which usually help communities reverse course and are seen by residents as wanting to finish the destruction of the neighborhood; and in the process kill
remains of a significant blockade busting, Underground Railroad running, 1857 Free-State town, called Quindaro.
