Great Edwardsville mounds. Middle and Late Ceramic, and Historic Period site near Edwardsville in Kansas City, Kansas. This burial site represents multiple time periods including Early and Late Ceramic, and Historic American Indian and European Periods, 1875-1954. Five or more burial mounds are located on the bluff edge facing Kansas River. Because there are periods of occupation from 1250 to 1954 more field investigations are needed to verify the presence or absence of actual burials within the mounds.
