Wyandot's purchase land from the Delaware December 23rd, surprising white settlers and Missouri pro-slave supporters. Pro-slavery Judge Price of Missouri worried that "they (Wyandot) are late from Ohio where a successful Underground Railroad operated." The Wyandot's had among them highly professional people who negotiated the land purchase (and gift in part) rejecting land initially offered by the government.Added to timeline:
