Description:

Even in this generation, we still have some hunter-gather type societies around the world. Some of these include: Kalahari Persistence Hunters, Sentinelese of the Andaman Islands, and Pirahã of the Maici River in the Amazon (Czartoryski).
This photo is of Kalahari persistence hunters, located in Kalahari Dessert, Africa. These hunters chase their prey over long spaces of area for hours on end until they get tired. Once they need their break to drink some water, that’s when the hunters kill them (Czartoryski).
Photo reference (Czartoryski).
I think that why some hunter-gather societies still exist today is because of their climate and environment. For example, the Kalahari hunters live in the dessert where most thing wouldn’t survive the climate to be able to build things. They have decided to stay in the past and do everything themselves, it could be part of their beliefs or cultures. Hunter-gathers could even be classified as fishing or hunting, collecting honey, etc. things that everyday people do but it isn’t to the same extent that they used to be. Other reasons could be that they don’t have the money or resources to change that way of lifestyle, to be able to buy their food (Czartoryski).
