Clarence Rice was co-founder and first Dean (there was no President until 1965) of the white branch of Kansas City Kansas Junior College in 1923. His M.A. was from Columbia University in New York City. Dean Rice presided for one year from 1923-1924 while also serving as Principle of Central High School in KCK.
In the first year of the college Dean/Principle Clarence Rice was also the National President of Postsecondary Education for the Kansas National Education Association and President of the Kansas Athletic Association.
