jan 1, 1803 - Louisiana Purchase
Description:
During Jefferson's years in presidency, this was arguably one of the most important ones. Jefferson was able to acquire large amounts of land for cheap by buying it from Napoleon. This event was critical for American work and exchange, as a new frontier had been opened, and westward expansion as well as the introduction of new social classes and trade were opened by this new abundance of land.
