sep 16, 1938 - Native Housing Amendment Act - passed
Description:
In 1938, under the Native Housing Amendment Act, the Labour government set aside £50,000 for the housing of 'indigent natives.' The practical side of this Special Housing Fund was managed by the Maori Land Boards, but the standard of security required was lower than that for applicants under the 1935 Act
