jan 7, 1776 - Declaration of Independence The Declaration of Independence says that the colonists don't wont to be a part of great Britain because they have been treated badly. Also the want to be their own country. The British did not agree with this so the the United States had to Declare their Independence from Great Britain. Britain did not argee with this so they fought a bit more still.
