Description:

With Eleanor marrying Henry II Aquitaine became a duchy of conflict. In the treaty of Paris Henry III of England signed with Louis IX. In which this duchy became a part of England but in return becoming a vassal of the French crown. France took the land anyway and Aquitaine became a duchy in battle.
