º A Frenchness in architecture, in fashion, in lifestyle took over the noble and loyal city of Mexico. Large public works were completed and others were launched. In 1900 Don Porfirio put into service the new electric tram, inaugurated the drainage works of the Valley of Mexico and the Penitentiary of the Federal District known as Lecumberri.
