Lived in towns along the red sea, such as Yemen and Mecca. Agriculture and trade made the towns wealthy. Basic social unit was a clan, blood relatives that connected through the male bloodline. Members had to be loyal and in turn provided protection. All Arabs however kept 3 months as sacred in which they didn't fight so they could hold holy ceremonies. the most important building being ka'ab a black stone thought to be the dwelling place of a god (even before the spread of the Islam).
