It was a very open religion. All social statuses, races were allowed. The belief that people would be immortal made it popular, most people also believed they would rise into body, not only in spirit. It was also a religion of forgiveness. Jesus loved sinners and would forgive them since chrisitanity believes the human body is weak. It also made for a sense of purpose in the Roman world, spread the world of Christ. It gave a sense of community and they called eachother brother and sister.
