oct 18, 1748 - Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle

Description:

A treaty ending the War of Austrian Succession, King George's War, and the War of Jenkins' Ear. It mostly restored captured territories to their former owners, It renewed Great Britain's monopoly on the slave trade (though this was later traded away in 1750). France and Great Britain were upset that they had to relinquish the lands they took (the Austrian Netherlands and Louisbourg, respectively). Italy, however, became stable, while Spain got to retain control of all their colonies. Great Britain did not get the control over the New World they were hoping for.
