Gondul closed his teary eyes, planting a kiss on Rowena's lips as light left her chest and eyes, slowly making its way into Gondul's body.

Though her body was dead, Rowena was not gone. She resided within Gondul, and he could feel her presence — connected to all of her memories and thoughts, hearing her sweet whisper in his mind.

Gondul was absolutely taken aback by the overwhelming connection. It was as though two stars had collided, intertwining themselves into one, immovable force of energy and light.

After tucking her cold body into her bed and wiping the tears from his eyes, Gondul fell to the stone floor by the bedside and fell asleep.

His dreams were some of the most beautiful, tranquil, majestic dreams he had ever experienced.
