Gondul was in Eastmarch when he got the message from the Prophet, summoning him back to the Harborage. Gondul began riding for it instantly, eventually, after a days ride, reaching it.

He entered the aging ruins and was surprised to see an apparition of an old Imperial man next to Lyris and the Prophet. The Prophet explained that he could not use the magical Orb Gondul had recently collected to find the exact location of Sai Sahan — but instead used it for what it was originally made for; to summon Abnur Tharn, the Imperial Chancellor.

Both the Prophet and Tharn's apparition explained that they had no other choice than to rescue him and take him in with asylum. Both Lyris and Gondul were very hesitant at first, but came to reason that they did in fact have no other choice, and that time was of the essence. His promise to Gudrune raced through Gondul's mind. He had to rescue Sai — no matter what.

Although Abnur knew where Sai Sahan was at the time, he demanded that he would not share any information until he was out of Coldharbour and out of the reach of Mannimarco.
