0h 40min, may 24, 2018 y - Sent Ms. Starfish email asking to work in different group

Description:

Sent new boss the following email
Hi Natalie. I wanted to send you a list of of ongoing projects I am working as well as future projects I would like to get involved in. Currently the tasks that I am working are putting in some work orders for the electricians to check out some bad RTDs. My plan is to work with Ben McKevitt (clearance coordinator) and the mechanics to change out these RTDs when the unit is unavailable. It appears that many of these bad RTDs measure lube oil and thrust shoe temperatures.

As I mentioned yesterday I also plan on updating the documentation visual basic programs that are used to get certain information into the SCADA system. Lastly, I plan on making a signal list. This list would contain every signal going into or out of the PLC, the address of the input/output, the drawing it can be found on, the PLC slot and rack it can be found in, the pins that it is wired to, whether it is memory or a physical input/output, and a brief description of how the signal is being used. I attached two signal lists I created to this email that I created during my time working in Colorado. The U3 Signal List was for a protective relay upgrade while the other list was for annunciator upgrade project.

As far as future projects go I have gotten much more interested in waste water, generator repair, and power distribution. If it would be possible I would like to transition to working more with Andy Trader to learn more about generator repair and I would also like to work with Mike Ireland and Nate on the station service upgrade project. I feel that I could be a big help to these guys with the Station Service Upgrade and the ongoing generator repair projects. Please let me know what you think.

Discussed email with new boss regarding getting out of SCADA group and working in other electrical groups. Meeting went well. New boss says I am needed in SCADA, but I will get a chance to work more with generator repair and I will get more involved in SCADA. I am still hoping to get out of SCADA. I will continue to press the issue as time goes on. Mentioned to new boss projects that I am working on and how I have not been given any real projects and have been left to figure things out myself. I have now finally been given some direction and am starting by working on updating documentation for the LVL Visual Basic Program and looking into changing out bad Rtds. I will also be going over major HMI pages used by the operators with my boss a few times each week. Things seem to be moving in a positive direction, however; I would still like to get out of the SCADA group.
