feb 2, 1848 - Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

Description:

The US-Mexico treaty ending the Mexican-American War. The US receives California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona, and some of Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. The US grants the nation $15 million in return. Some Americans want to annex all of Mexico, but others argue that Catholic browns have no place in the US, so most of Mexico is allowed to be independent.
