Description:
Also known as the American Revenue Act, the Sugar Act was designed to fix the Sugar and Molasses Act, passed in 1733. This act reduced the taxation on imported molasses from 6 pence per gallon, to just 3 pence per gallon. This act taxed many other foreign goods, and was enforced much more strictly.
