jan 21, 1976 - The first Concord took of

Description:

On January 21, 1976 the first Concords took off. The two concords simultaneously took of from London and Paris. The final destination of the London flight was Bahrain in the Persian gulf and the Paris flight to Rio De Janeiro. The Concord was one of the first ever passenger planes to break the speed of sound. It travelled at a speed of 1 350 miles per hour! Cutting the average flight time by more then half. The one down side with the Concord was its high ticket prices. Only the rich could afford a seat on the super sonic plane. The Concord no longer fly's today because of an Incident on July 25, 2000. 60 Seconds into the flight the Concord crashed killing all 109 aboard as well as 4 people on the Ground. This was because a piece of metal was left on the runway and the Concord ran over during take off which ruptured a tire, and then put a hole in the fuel tank. Which crated an engine failure causing the plane to crash.
