mar 18, 1766 - Stamp Act repealed
Description:
After much resistance from the colonists, including rioters burning down homes of tax collectors and boycotting British goods, and later after much dissent in Parliament and a change in prime minister (George Grenville to Lord Rockingham), the British government repealed the Stamp Act of 1765. It coincided with the passing of the Declaratory Act.
