apr 4, 1841 - President Harrison dies
Description:
President William Henry Harrison caught a cold on March 26, which worsened with his doctors' treatments. He died on April 4, and with it created a Constitutional crisis about presidential succession. He was succeeded by John Tyler, who established the precedent that the vice president that assumed office after a president left was a president in their own right, and not merely a placeholder.
