Description:

A key conflict in the Texas Revolution, it was a 13-day siege followed by a Mexican attack on the Alamo mission. Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna attacked Texian troops hiding in Alamo. Santa Anna's actions were considered cruel by the Texians, who used the attack as a rallying point to successfully convince people to enlist in the army. Inspired by revenge, the Texians soon attacked and defeated the Mexicans at San Jacinto, ending the war.

182-257 Texian troops killed
