aug 10, 1680 - Pueblo Revolt
Description:
A revolt in which Native Americans led by Popé successfully drove Spanish settlers out of Santa Fe, then proceeded to destroy their religious symbols. This was the only time European settlers were forcefully and totally driven out of a colony. 12 years later, the Spanish retook New Mexico with little effort.
