Description:
In 1775, Thomas Paine published the pamphlet "Common Sense". "Common Sense" focused on the idea of total independence from Great Britain. This pamphlet became very popular in the colonies. "Common Sense" spread the idea of liberty quickly and caused the congress to discus independence. Eventually, the congress selected Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence.
