Description:
On March 19, 1767, Parliament passed the Tea Act. The Tea Act put a tax on imported tea. To the colonists, tea was a part of everyday life. When the British put a tax on tea, some people couldn't afford it. This caused many colonists to become enraged, and soon many colonists began to protest. This act also caused the Boston Tea Party.
