In the 2004 reauthorization of IDEA, the use of “scientific, research-based interventions”, known as Response to Intervention, was implemented (Villegas, 2018). Response to Intervention uses quantitative data to examine the ways in which different teaching styles affect a students learning. The goal is to empower students by raising not only expectations but also outcomes in the classroom.
