Description:
Pathfinder was launched on December 4, 1996, and it reached Mars on July 4th, 1997. Pathfinder launched the rover Sojourner and both of the units provided scientific data. Pathfinder and its rover both outlived their projected lifetime the lander by 3 times and the rover by 12 times.
