In 1086, Yusuf ibn Tashfin got a call from his fellow Muslim in the Iberian Peninsula who were just a short distance away, the Taifa states were in a mess, their backs were up against the proverbial ropes the Christian Kingdom in North were coming after them and Taifa desperate for help. The Almoravids had fashioned themselves as the saviors in the Islamic world through their doctrine and were perhaps convinced that righteousness by the rapid growth it is after all hard argue with success. Almoravids came in for a stipulation of their agreement with Taifa leaders. The port city of Algeciras was given to Almoravids to enter. There was a war between Alfonso VI and Yusuf ibn Tashfen in Sargrajas. The battle begin and across the Guadiana river. A victory for the Almoravids. The Christian camp got looted, Alfonso was wounded. This fight know as Marakat az Zallaqa.
In my opinion, Battle of Zallaqa showed even Almoravid did not have a very good relationship they still want to give a hand to Taifa. it also indicate that Islam is very beautiful religion in which the ruler of Almoravids still want to help the Taifa.
