Description:

"Mexico abolishes slavery and becomes a refuge for American fugitive slaves.

Conflict between Mexico and its territory in Texas began immediately, and escalated until the independent Republic of Texas made slavery legal again in the region. Texas was admitted as a slave state in 1845."
