jun 25, 1547 - At this time wool exports twice the value of coal but shipment of coal trade given to burgesses known as the Hostman and Gateshead annexed as suburb of Newcastle giving burgesses access to Gateshead Coal Mines. Newcastle prospers and becomes major town.
